We are thrilled to announce we closed a $3M seed round led by Anthemis and Autism Impact Fund last week. We cannot say thank you enough to our investors, members, care providers, and followers who have supported us throughout this journey!

Over the past 12 months, the pandemic has proven the essential need for quality care as we have watched our community grow by 200%. When COVID began and the world shut down, families were left without the care services they depended on for their loved ones, like schools and daycares. Without access to a network of pre-screened and experienced caregivers who could provide in-home care, families were left to balance full-time jobs and full-time care responsibilities. Because of this, 3 million women left the workforce to become primary caregivers.

This data shapes what the future of Joshin looks like as we strive to help even more families manage disability healthcare needs. With 30% of the employee population having a complex care need and 42% of companies looking to expand their care benefits, the next chapter in Joshin’s growth will focus on bringing inclusive care benefits to companies across the nation. We are expanding our services nationally, recruiting more care providers to our network, and partnering with corporations of all sizes to offer Joshin as a care benefit.

We’re filling a major gap in the care economy. Corporate benefits often offer childcare and eldercare, but what about the years in between? In a pilot we’re doing with a Fortune 100 company, we are supporting a child with Sensory Processing Disorder, a teen with Cerebral palsy, a spouse with an unexpected brain injury, and a mother with dementia. We created a platform designed for families with disabilities, but all of these tools can be used to care for everyone. That also includes typical families looking for leveled-up sitters and nannies they can trust. We’re for all ages and needs, and we will not stop until all families have access to equitable care for their loved ones.

Corporate leaders have the opportunity to create a solution for employees who are struggling yet afraid to speak up. Bringing these conversations out of the shadows creates a culture that recognizes that every family’s care needs are different. Joshin is the answer to supporting these employees. When you build for the edge cases, you create value for every employee. Joshin is leveled-up care.

And it doesn’t stop there. Currently, Joshin is building a network of disability resources, specialists, doctors, therapists, and schools. Families who care for loved ones spend 13 hours per month just to research services, information, physicians, and financial matters. They’re often given binders of papers from different therapists, doctors, and providers. Over the next year, we’re going to take all of this fragmented information and create a completely digital hub for disability resources and documentation on Joshin. Families and their team of providers will have access to everything they need to support their loved ones. The entire team that cares for an individual will work together through the Joshin platform to support and reach goals, all while decreasing the stress put on families while managing care.

Joshin is different from any care solution out there. Our self-service technology allows employees to log in at any time and find care providers. Joshin is completely flexible and self-manageable. Employees sign up with their company email address and can immediately connect with care providers, post jobs, send unlimited messages, interview, and schedule care, all from an easy-to-use dashboard. And if hands-on support is preferred, our dedicated Care Coordinators are standing by to find care providers and build schedules for your employees. We’re constantly listening to user feedback to improve our services and are committed to building out our product, adding new features, and making disability care easy and stress-free.

Thank you again to everyone for your support. We’re excited to continue growing and creating a more equitable and inclusive world! If you’re interested in learning more about Joshin’s corporate care benefits, reach out here.

With Gratitude,
